Public invited to regional citizens advisory council

Cook Inlet Regional Citizens Advisory Council prevention, response, operations and safety committee meeting is scheduled for today at 10 a.m. in the CIRCAC office in Kenai. The public is welcome. For agenda, directions or more information, call 283-7222.

Kenai chamber board meets at noon

The Kenai Chamber of Commerce board of directors meets at noon today at Kings Inn.

Preschool plans garage sale

Kenai Cooperative Preschool will have a garage sale today and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. at 818 Cook St., next to the Kenai Fine Arts Center.

Flea market to raise funds for alternative school

The Kenai Alternative High School will hold a flea market April 1 and 2 to raise funds for the Mardi Gras Millennium Ball scheduled for May. The flea market will be held at the old Veterans Administration building behind Groomingdale's across from Kenai Napa Auto Parts on the Kenai Spur Highway.

Blood drive scheduled for Saturday

The Kenai Lions Club announces a Kenai community blood drive on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Kenai Elks Club, 205 Barnacle Way. Donors should drink lots of caffeine-free liquids and eat a good meal before donating.

Support offered for fetal alcohol caregivers

A support meeting for fetal alcohol caregivers and the disabled will be held Saturday at the REACH center on Poppy Lane beginning at 1:30 p.m. The survey for the Governor's Council on Disabilities will be provided, along with assistance in completing the survey. Soldotna seniors plan Italian dinner

The Soldotna Senior Center is having a fund-raising dinner Saturday at 5:30 p.m. The event is $8 for adults, $5 for children and includes dinner, music, storytelling and dancers. Tickets are available at the door.

Mixed Emotion to play at Kaladi's

The musical group Mixed Emotion will perform at Kaladi Brothers in Soldotna Saturday. The group will play from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

Organization begins for Dublin 2000 marathon

The Arthritis Foundation Joints In Motion will hold an organizational meeting Tuesday for anyone interested in participating in the Dublin 2000 marathon. For more information, call Mindee, 283-3954.

Crisis intervention training scheduled for May

The Women's Resource and Crisis Center is sponsoring crisis intervention training beginning May 5. Topics for the 45-hour class include myths and truths about domestic violence, the cycle of violence, child advocacy, instruction on working with shelter clients and more. The first night is free and open to the public. Four college credits are available for those completing the course.
