CPHC board to meet

The Central Peninsula Health Centers Inc. board of directors will meet at 6 p.m. today at the Peninsula Community Health Center, room 202, at 230 E. Marydale Ave. in Soldotna. It is open to the public. For more information, call 260-7300.

T-200 meeting slated

The Tustumena Sled Dog Race Association will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Riverside House in Soldotna. Nominations for officers, three board members and a musher representative are on the agenda. For more information, call 283-8426.

CIRCAC to meet

The Cook Inlet Regional Citizens Advisory Council will hold its annual meeting at 9 a.m. Friday in the conference room at Cook Inlet Aquaculture Building on Kalifornsky Beach Road. It is open to the public. For more information, call 283-7222.

FASD training offered

A two-day community training on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum disorders titled "Children with FASD: Navigating the Rapids to Adult Life" will be presented by Deb Evensen from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center. Child screening available

The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District Child Find Program and Frontier Community Services Early Intervention will offer free screenings for children ages newborn to 5 on March 29 at Frontier Community Services, 43335 Kalifornsky Beach Road, Suite 16. Little League registration continues

The Soldotna and Kenai Little League registration continues at the following locations:

* Soldotna 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Soldotna Little League office, next to Sal's Diner. For more information, call Vicki at 398-6363.

* Kenai 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Kenai Safeway Store. Kenai Little League offers indoor baseball clinics Tuesdays at Kenai Middle School. Clinics for players ages 5 through 10 are from 6 to 7 p.m. and players ages 11 and over are from 7 to 8 p.m. For more information, call Gary Oliver at 283-7487.

Community health fair set

Central Peninsula Hospital will hold its annual health fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 5 at Soldotna High School in the commons area. Depression screening, blood pressure screening, height and weight screening, respiratory screening, carbon monoxide level screening and sleep evaluations will be given.

Also available at reduced costs will be blood chemistry panel ($40), thyroid screening TSH ($30) and prostate screening PSA ($25). A variety of health and wellness information and vendor booths will be available.

Those who wish to have blood work done are asked to have nothing to eat or drink for 12 hours prior and take medications normally, with the exceptions of diabetics which should not fast. For more information, call Michelle McKay, at 714-4775.

KPC seeks council members

Kenai Peninsula College is seeking community members to serve on its college council. The 15-member boroughwide council serves as an advisory board to the college director and advocates for the interests of the college to the community and legislature. Members serve three-year terms.

Those applying for the positions will be asked to attend the 6 p.m. June 12 council meeting at the Kenai River Campus in Soldotna to discuss their qualifications with the council.

Cameras, photo printers sought

The Soldotna Rotary Club is seeking donations of working digital cameras and photo printers for the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District's art program. Equipment may be dropped off at Sweeney's Clothing or Joe Kashi's law office.

Kids reading program continues

The Triumvirate Bookstore Frequent Reader Program continues. Kids can pick out one free book, a reading calendar and reading program rules at the bookstore in the Peninsula Center Mall in Soldotna. Bookstore hours are noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. For more information, call 953-7262.
