ANCHORAGE (AP) -- A fugitive wanted on a homicide charge in San Diego was captured Thursday at an Anchorage apartment, according to Alaska State Troopers.
Jamal Samone Henderson, 26, was arrested about 2:25 p.m. when he stepped out of his apartment to talk on a cordless telephone, troopers said. Investigators were acting on a tip from the San Diego police.
Henderson was arrested on two Anchorage misdemeanor warrants charging him with not appearing for arraignment on driving while his license was revoked.
But Henderson also had an outstanding felony warrant charging him with homicide, troopers said. Henderson is a suspect in a Dec. 27, 1997, shooting in California.
Henderson was being held at Cook Inlet Pretrial Facility on $1 million bail on the California charge, along with $3,000 for the Alaska cases.
