Easter services scheduled

North Star United Methodist Church in Nikiski Easter services will be as follows: Good Friday service at 7 p.m. today; Easter sunrise service at Jess Lobdell's house Sunday (call church for time); potluck breakfast following service at North Star UMC in fellowship hall.

Apostolic Assembly of Jesus Christ : The three-day purification fast will be broken with a "Sonrise" service at 7 a.m. Sunday; children's Sunday school at 10:30 a.m. with music, treats and play. The evening service will begin at 5:30 and feature a resurrection cantata by the adult choir.

St. Francis by the Sea Episcopal Church Easter services will be as follows: Tennebrae service at 7 p.m. today; Easter vigil at 8 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Katherine Hunt officiating; Holy Eucharist at 10:30 a.m. Sunday The Rev. Katherine Hunt officiating; and an Easter egg hunt for families of St. Francis and the Family Church of God at noon. Followed by a joint potluck Easter brunch.

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church will lead a Good Friday walk through Soldotna today.

The walk will begin at noon at O'Neill Hall on Redoubt Avenue and will take about two hours to complete.

The group will carry a large timber cross, walk a two-mile route, stop at 14 stations for reflection on the final journey of Christ. It is open to the public.

An Easter resurrection celebration featuring the art of Dr. David Bishop accompanied by a church community mass choir will take place at 7 p.m. today and Saturday and at 4 p.m. Sunday at Soldotna High School Auditorium.

Peninsula Christian Center will present an original illustrated Easter sermon at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the center one block east of the Kenai Spur Highway behind the Salvation Army store in Soldotna. The topic will be Pilate's wife, Claudia. The drama will feature Pastor Renee Duncan and Pastor J.D. Duncan.

United Methodist Church of the New Covenant Easter services will be as follows: Early service of scripture and hymns at 9 a.m.; an all church breakfast at 9:30 a.m.; and worship service with the choir at 11 a.m. Sunday at the church in Kenai. For more information, call 283-7868.

Bible study group to meet

Nikiski Aglow meets at 9:30 a.m. Wednesdays at North Star Methodist Church. It is open to area women.

Clothing available

Clothes 2 Go is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays in the basement of the Nikiski Inlet Faith Church. Items are 25 cents and up.

Clothes Quarters open

Clothes Quarters in the back of the parking lot at 225 Spruce at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Kenai will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 30 and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 2. For more information, call 283-4555.
