Students attain degrees, college honors

Scott King graduated from the University of Nevada Reno in December. His future plans include entering the medical field.

He is a 1996 graduate of Kenai Central High School and is the son of David and Lana King of Kenai.

Nick Gentry Medley of Soldotna is one of 440 University of Oregon students who will receive a bachelor's degree. He is an art major.

Cortney Ann Engleman of Soldotna was named to the Seattle Pacific University dean's list for the 2000 autumn quarter.

She is the daughter of Ronald and Victoria Engleman of Soldotna.

Soldotna men complete training

Pvt. Timothy R. Joseph graduated March 9 as a U.S. Marine after completing 13 weeks of recruit training in San Diego.

He is a 2000 graduate of Soldotna High School and is the son of Susan L. Robinson of Soldotna.

Army Pvt. Peter J. Burger, a 1999 graduate of Skyview High School, graduated from the heavy-wheeled vehicle mechanic advanced individual training course at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.

During the course, he learned to perform unit maintenance on heavy duty vehicles, such as crane, hoist, winch assemblies and material handling equipment.

He is the son of Karen E. Burger of Kenai and Richard L. Burger of Soldotna.
