Spring

Posted: Thursday, March 26, 2009

A calendar says, so to speak,

spring came Friday last week.

Though she has already come

ol'man winter will not succumb.

Those days soon will be gone,

as warm weather advances on.

Longer days, we'll soon accrue,

with bright skies of royal blue.

Sunlight will shine a bit more

than it did each day before;

warm breezes blow our way

to melt snow-coverings away.

As buds are breaking ground,

and new life is rising around,

flowers will soon be in bloom

with their fragrant perfume.

Yes, shivering cold won't last;

freezing days will go by fast.

In just a short month or so

you'll say, "Where'd it all go?"
