Computer workshops offered locally

The People Count Inc. Skills Resource Center is offering the following workshops:

Excel, April 3 through 6 from 6 to 9 p.m.

QuickBooks Pro, April 10 through 14 from 6 to 9 p.m.

Register the Friday before to reserve space. Seating is limited. The center can be contacted at 283-4099.

Black bear baiting clinics scheduled

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game will hold three black bear baiting clinics in the Kenai and Soldotna area. If you already have attended a clinic and been certified, you do not need to be certified again. The dates, times and locations are:

April 6 and 20 from 6 to 10 p.m., Cook Inlet Aquaculture Building, 40610 Kalifornsky Beach Road;

May 5 from 6 to 10 p.m., Kenai Peninsula Sport and Recreation Show, Soldotna Sport Center, Soldotna.

You may not register a bait station in Units 7, 14A, 14B, 15, 16A or 20B unless you have successfully completed a Fish and Game-approved bear baiting clinic.

Cook Inlet Lions meeting planned

The Cook Inlet Lions will meet at the Nikiski Senior Center on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. They also will hold a drag racing membership drive. For more information, call Don at 283-2793.
