Roadside angel thanked

Hats off to the good Samaritan who pulled my daughter’s Astro van from the ditch along South Miller Loop just off the Spur March 19.

My daughter, wife and four grandchildren were on their way to church when a speeding vehicle came up rapidly from behind. In an effort to avoid trouble, Kristine steered to the right side, but too far, and slid into the ditch, nearly tipping the van on its side. The speeder didn’t even look back.

There they sat as many people stopped to offer assistance, but to no avail. Soon, a man driving a white Chevy Avalanche four-wheel drive came by. He stopped, hooked on and got the van back on the road. Things happened so fast they didn’t get his full name, but they believed his name is Ben and his truck had a logo on the door.

According to my family (all safe and uninjured), when offered money this good Samaritan refused saying,” The Lord gave me this truck and told me to use it to help others.”

To that individual I say, “We don’t know who you are, but the Lord does. May he continue to bless you for your kindness.”
