Benson receives scholarship


Former Kenai resident Kimberly Benson received a scholarship and graduate assistantship at Denver University, for housing and residential education. Benson will serve as a graduate resident director on campus during her two-year master’s degree program.

She is the daughter of Verda and Greg Benson.

Benson is a 2001 graduate of Kenai Central High School and a 2005 graduate of Whitworth College in Spokane.

Dreifuerst makes president’s list



Former Cooper Landing resident Casilyn Marie Dreifuerst was named to the president’s list at Gonzaga University in Washington in her freshman year.

To be named to the list students must have a grade point average of 3.7 or better.

Soldotna Elks table tennis results

Gary Brumly and Matt Faris won the Soldotna Elks Lodge’s doubles table tennis tournament Wednesday. Wayne Brooks and Chad Botirius placed second, and Bob Sizemore and Bruce Jackman placed third.

The Soldotna Elks hold table tennis tournaments every Wednesday night beginning at 6:30 p.m. For more information, call Bob at 262-5130.
