Having recently visited our daughter in Soldotna, my wife and I enjoyed the evening at Mykel's, but after a few minutes in the smoking-allowed establishments, we decided it was best to stay at the house.
Being Minnesota residents, which voted to ban smoking in all public places, we heard the same arguments from the bars owners as well as from the anti-smoking groups. But after two years, all the bars are still open, and many have said it actually helped their business.
I have even heard a few smokers happily admit the ban has actually helped them cut back on their smoking.
