Kenai Central's Bailey Beeson won the girls 800-meter race in a time of 2 minutes, 27.2 seconds, leading the Kardinals to a fourth-place finish at the "Mini" track and field meet Friday and Saturday at the Sports Dome in Anchorage.
Leah Sandahl placed second in the 100 hurdles, though an official time was not reported, while teammate Shaynee DeVito took fourth.
The Kards' 400 relay took third, coach Tim Sandahl said, but accurate times were not reported from that race, either.
Wasilla took the team title in the girls competition with 58.2 points. The Kards had 30.
On the boys side, KCHS earned seventh in the team standings with 23 points. Bartlett won, earning 54 points.
"It went really well," Tim Sandahl said. "We're really happy. The kids did well."
Tyler Spalding took third in the shot put, fourth in the long jump and won the high jump -- with a reported height of 6-4 -- for the Kards.
