The generous contribution of a Ed Tussey original will help the Soldotna Lions Club fund their scholarship and community benefit projects. Ed Warfle of the Frontier Frame Gallery in Soldotna donated the original, entitled "Prince of the North".
According to Lions Club president Tim Musgrove, the local club sponsors everything from a bed race to a raffle to raise funds for their scholarships. "I'll be going door to door and to a lot of businesses to introduce myself and give people the opportunity to win this beautiful original for the price of a $5.00 ticket," said Musgrove.
Additionally, the Lions throughout the year provide eyeglasses and exams, dental and other health care for those in need in the local community. The Lions are also planning on having a booth at the Village Health Fair March 31st where they will display the painting and have tickets available for purchase. The "Prince of the North" may also be seen at the Frontier Frame Gallery at the "Y" in Soldotna. For more information contact Tim Musgrove 262-7959.
