Anchorage man killed in auto accident

ANCHORAGE (AP) -- A man was killed Wednesday morning in a vehicle accident near the University of Alaska Anchorage, police said.

The victim was identified as 30-year-old Chiew Saechao. He was pronounced dead at Alaska Regional Hospital.

Investigators said Saechao was riding in the rear seat of a car that was traveling on UAA Drive shortly before 8 a.m. when the driver lost control of the car and it skidded sideways.

The car was struck by a pickup truck that had been traveling behind it.

The driver of the car and a passenger in the front seat were both taken to Alaska Regional Hospital to be treated for injuries.

The driver of the truck and a passenger also were treated for minor injuries.
