UNIONDALE, N.Y. -- Martin Havlat scored two goals and had an assist and Patrick Lalime stopped 27 shots as the Ottawa Senators won for the first time in five games as they beat the New York Islanders 4-1 on Wednesday night.
Marian Hossa and Benoit Brunet also scored for Ottawa, while Radek Bonk added a pair of assists.
The Senators moved to within two points of fourth-place Toronto in the Eastern Conference.
Devils 4, Penguins 3
PITTSBURGH -- Bobby Holik and Patrik Elias scored less than a minute apart to cap a three-goal, third-period comeback that gave New Jersey the win over Pittsburgh.
The loss cost the Penguins a chance to move within four points of the Eastern Conference's final playoff spot.
Holik scored his first goal in the first period and Stephane Richer also scored for New Jersey, New Jersey is 7-1-0-1 in the last nine games.
Randy Robitaille, Aleksey Morozov and Jeff Toms scored for Pittsburgh.
Wild 4, Thrashers 2
ATLANTA -- Andrew Brunette made a triumphant return to Atlanta with a goal and an assist as Minnesota defeated the Thrashers.
The Thrashers let Brunette go as a free agent last summer after he scored 38 goals in the team's first two seasons. In his first game back to Philips Arena, Brunette set up the first goal with a perfect cross-ice pass and scored the game-winner after a crafty move on goalie Frederic Cassivi.
Marian Gaborik, Stacy Roest and Antti Laaksonen also scored for Minnesota.
Flyers 4, Rangers 2
NEW YORK -- Brian Boucher stopped 25 shots to lead Philadelphia past New York.
Justin Williams, Eric Desjardins, John LeClair and Keith Primeau scored for Philadelphia.
The victory pulled the Flyers within two points of Boston for the top spot in the Eastern Conference. The Flyers have two games in hand on the Bruins.
Blackhawks 4, Predators 1
CHICAGO -- Steve Passmore, starting consecutive games for only the second time this season, made 16 saves as Chicago beat Nashville.
Mark Bell, Phil Housley, Tom Fitzgerald and Tony Amonte scored to help the Blackhawks take sole possession of fourth place in the Western Conference. Chicago has won two straight with Passmore in goal following a six-game winless streak.
Passmore lost a bid for his first shutout of the season with 7:23 left when Nashville's Denis Arkhipov scored a power-play goal.
Coyotes 4, Mighty Ducks 2
ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Todd Simpson, Daniel Briere and Branko Radivojevic scored on consecutive shots as Phoenix beat Anaheim.
Claude Lemieux also scored for the Coyotes, who are 9-2-1 in their last 12 games.
Keith Carney and German Titov scored for the Ducks, who had won all three of their previous meetings this season with Phoenix.
