The ash cloud from Mount Redoubt's Saturday afternoon eruption can be seen rising from behind the Kenai Courthouse. The volcano blew several times during the day.

The National Weather Service in Anchorage issued an ashfall advisory, in effect until 10 p.m. Saturday evening, from Kenai northward. People in areas of ashfall should seal windows and doors, protect electronics, cover air intakes, and cover open water. Driving should also be avoided or kept to a minimum.
