Kodiak teen injured in fatal car crash taken out of intensive care

KODIAK (AP) -- A Kodiak teen who was critically injured in a fatal car accident last week has been removed from intensive care in an Anchorage hospital.

Josias Luna, 19, was one of six teens traveling in a Jeep Cherokee that swerved off Monashka Bay and landed upside down in Pillar Creek. Two brothers, David Zomchek, 18, and Jonathan Zomchek, 16, died in the accident. Three others were injured.

Luna, who remained at Alaska Regional Hospital, told the Kodiak Daily Mirror he was ''doing a little better.''
