Food bank planning its first Easter dinner
The Kenai Peninsula Food Bank will host its first Easter dinner from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the food bank, 33955 College Drive, off Kalifornsky Beach Road. The public is invited. There is no charge.
Donations for the dinner would be appreciated. Hams, potatoes, salad ingredients and salad dressings all could be used.

Women's group looking to volunteer
The Women's Roundtable, a group of professional businesswomen, is looking for organizations that need volunteer assistance. The group is willing to help organizations in a variety of capacities, such as newsletter writing, filing, painting, cleaning and other volunteer work. Soccer referee clinic to be held Saturday
The Boys and Girls Club will sponsor an Indoor Soccer Referee Clinic Saturday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Kenai Boys and Girls Club gym. Special-use permit applications due
Applications for conducting commercial visitor services in the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge are due Monday. All businesses conducting any commercial visitor services on refuge lands and waters, including portions of the Kenai River within refuge boundaries, must apply for a special-use permit. The permit year begins May 1 and runs through April 30, 2003. Meeting planned for Cook Inlet fishers
A special meeting for all Cook Inlet commercial fishers will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Cook Inlet Aquaculture Building. The meeting will focus on a variety of fishing issues, including recent Board of Fisheries regulation changes, Exxon Valdez litigation and fishing-related bills before the Legislature. Vessel monitoring presentation to be held
Representatives from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration will be on hand at 6 p.m. April 15 at city hall in Homer to discuss the new federal mandate that longline and trawl fishers be required to purchase vessel monitoring devices for the upcoming season.
