NEW YORK (AP) -- American synagogues have teamed up with 32 synagogues in Argentina to help feed Jews suffering during that nation's economic crisis.
The effort, sponsored by the North American Boards of Rabbis and World Jewish Congress, began by supplying kosher-for-Passover foods for the holiday.
The sponsors said a fourth of Argentina's 197,000 Jews are living below the poverty line and 2,000 Jewish families are homeless.
