Alaskans should hiss loudly if they want to keep dividends

Posted: Monday, March 29, 2004

The Legislature's current shenanigans are nothing new. J.B. Colbert made this observation in 1665:

"The art of taxation consists in so plucking the goose as to obtain the largest amount of feathers with the least possible amount of hissing."

We best start hissing loudly unless we want to first lose the permanent fund dividend and then the permanent fund itself.

The Legislature is coming up with new schemes to raid the permanent fund almost every day. Educate yourself and then hiss loudly. You can do both easily by going to Harness the power of the Internet to make your opinion known.
