Public health center closed today

The Kenai Public Heath Center is closed today. There will be no immunization clinic.

After-graduation committee to meet

The Kenai Central High School after-graduation activity committee will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the teachers lounge. Parents of seniors are encouraged to attend. For more information, call Pam at 283-4432.

Food bank holding nutrition classes

The Kenai Peninsula Food Bank will hold an eight-week series on nutrition from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. beginning Wednesday at the food bank. Nutritionist Colleen Deal will instruct. Dessert show, auction slated

The Skyview High School Swing choir will hold its fourth annual dessert show and auction at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Peninsula Grace Brethren Church. Cost is $12 per person. Tickets are available from any swing choir member or from Suzanne and Dan Martin, who can be reached at 262-4083.

Input on hazard mitigation sought

The Kenai Peninsula Borough and the cities of Homer, Kenai, Kachemak, Seward, Soldotna and Seldovia are working on an All-Hazard Mitigation Plan to identify strategies for minimizing damage from floods, wildfires, earthquakes and other major disasters. Park advisory board to discuss budget

The Southern Peninsula State Parks advisory board will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. April 6 at the Ninilchik Senior Center. Agenda items will included proposed reductions of the state parks budget and the impact of contracting with private businesses for the management of the Kasilof, Ninilchik-Deep Creek and Anchor Point area state parks. There also will be a presentation on the Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan Update. There will be opportunity for comment. The public is invited to attend.
