Soldotna resident Kristin Judith Cronin died unexpectedly Saturday, March 24, 2007, at Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna. She was 14.

A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, March 31, at the Soldotna Bible Chapel, 300 West Marydale Ave., Soldotna. Pastor John Rysdyk will officiate. A gathering will immediately follow the services at the church.

Kristin was born September 19, 1992, at the Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage. She was home-schooled with IDEA Home-school Program through seventh grade before enrolling with the Connections home-school program in eighth grade and she also had attended Soldotna Middle School. She was a freshman at the Soldotna High School. She was a member of the Soldotna Bible Chapel and a previous member of the First Baptist Church in Soldotna.

She was involved in children’s ministries that included Child Evangelism Fellowship, Vacation Bible School, Children’s Church and the Christian Youth In Action Conferences.

“Kristin loved all with a smile and a laugh. She enjoyed talks with her big sister, Ashley, and her nephew, Austin. She also loved fishing on the Kenai in the summer and ice fishing in the winter with her Dad, sister, Kelsey, and friends, Zac, Beth and Jeff. Kristin enjoyed lots of laughs with Carly, Sarah and Leesha and so many more we have yet to meet. Kristin was in band and enjoyed her private clarinet lessons with Mr. Schmidt. What was important to her was sharing her faith in Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior,” her family said.

Kristin is survived by her parents, Gary and Dianne Cronin of Soldotna; sisters, Kelsey Cronin of Soldotna and Ashley Primmer of Worcester, Mass.; nephew, Austin Stephenson of Worcester, Mass.; grandparents, Wayne and Donna Cronin of Colchester, Conn. and Diane Amidon of Key Largo, Fla.; great-grandmother, Freda Cronin of Conn.; aunts, Ceadra Dawson of Englewood, Fla., Sue Ann Cummings of East Hampton, Conn. and Clare DeBoeff and her husband, Kelley of Valrico, Fla.; uncles, Scott Ely and his wife, Laurie of Soldotna, Richard Cummings and his wife, Cheryl of Soldotna and Daniel Cronin and his wife, Ginni of Oakdale, Conn.; cousins, Michael, Shyan and Dylan Ely of Soldotna, Kelly James and Bradford Bartels of East Hampton, Conn., Patrick Cronin of Connecticut, Joshua and Colleen Cronin of Alabama and Timothy, Victoria and Danielle DeBoeff of Valrico.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Kristin Cronin Memorial Fund C/O Wells Fargo, 44552 Sterling, Hwy. Soldotna, AK 99669.

Arrangements were by Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai.
