Soccer players, coaches sought

Kenai Peninsula Soccer Club is seeking players and coaches. Coaches are needed for its U-12 and U-15 boys teams. Registration has been extended until Friday for the U-11 girls and a second U-12 girl teams and U-13 and U-15 boys teams. KPFA meeting slated

Kenai Peninsula Fishermen’s Association will meet from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Cook Inlet Aquaculture building at 40610 Kalifornsky Beach Road. Topics will be 2008 proposals for Cook Inlet Board of fisheries regulatory meeting, update on Beluga Coal Project and comments on how to improve mission and goals. A business meeting will follow. Beekeepers all a buzz

Food bank plans one-day closure

The Kenai Peninsula Food Bank will be closed Wednesday for employee education. It will resume regular hours April 5. For more information, call 262-3111.

Gardening club seeks members

A new garden club is forming in the area and is seeking members. An organizational meeting will be held at 7 p.m. April 10 at the Cook Inlet Aquaculture Building at 406110 Kalifornsky Beach Road. Landscape architect Nancy Casey will discuss landscape planning and design. Refreshments will be available and door prizes awarded.

Health fair ready to pump you up

Central Peninsula Hospital will hold a health fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 21 in the Denali Conference Room, in the lower level of the Mountain Tower. Blood testing, PSA testing for prostate cancer and thyroid screening will be available for a fee. Other basic health screening will be available for free.
