With support like this, a cure will be found

The organizing committee of this year's St. Baldrick's event in Soldotna would like to thank all of our participants and donors who so generously gave their time and treasure to support childhood cancer research. This year's event was our biggest ever and thanks to everyone who joined us we raised almost $40,000, far surpassing our goal of $30,000.

Extra thanks go to our event sponsors and raffle donors: the City of Soldotna, the Kenai River Brown Bears, Residential Mortgage, Central Peninsula Hospital, Fishology Outfitters, Soldotna Mayor Peter Micciche, Soldotna Police Chief John Lucking and the Soldotna Police Department, Central Emergency Services, Marcus Yamada and the Yamada family, the Howland family, Wayne Johnson, Brian Heath, Cope Jackson, Steve Adams, Dan Pascucci, Sedona Florist, Dragonfly Gallery, Kenai River Brewing Co., Peninsula Scrub Shoppe, Karlene's Acupuncture and Day Spa, Air Liquide, Crafty Quilters of the Sterling Senior Center, Blue Grouse Dixie Roadhouse, Grant Aviation, Cold Stone Creamery, Fitalaskans.com, Mykel's, Froso's, Southcentral Title Agency, First National Bank Alaska, Dairy Queen, Laura Best, Jenny Fallon, Michelle Bloeser, Christine Baerresen, LuAnn Reynolds, the Kenai Peninsula Builder's Association, all of our local Rotary clubs, the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce and most of all, all of our Hero Shavees, and our wonderful volunteers.

It is thanks to the hard work and generosity of all of you in our amazing community that we have been able to donate more than $110,000 to childhood cancer research in the last four years. Since less than three percent of the federal dollars allocated to cancer research is dedicated to childhood cancer research, privately raised funds such as these really do make a difference for our children. One day, there will be cures!
