Caribou Hills Cabin Hoppers meet

Caribou Hills Cabin Hoppers holds its general meeting at the Albatross on K-Beach Road, April 7, at 7 p.m. Members will have the annual election of officers for the board.

Oilers offer grads scholarships

The Peninsula Oilers are giving away four $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors, one each to the four major area high schools (Soldotna, Skyview, Kenai and Nikiski). Deadline to apply is Friday, April 22. For more information, contact your counselor or visit the Oilers website at

Soldotna Safety Day coming

Participant packets are now available for Soldotna Safety Day, to be held May 21. Packets are at the Soldotna State Farm insurance office. There is no charge. The poster contest entry forms are also ready. Some forms have been delivered to the schools, but there are additional forms available at the State Farm office. All submitted entries receive a prize. La Leche League meets

The La Leche League of Soldotna and Kenai meets the first Tuesday of the month from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Mindful Therapies Yoga (by Curves at the Soldotna "Y"). The league is a breastfeeding resource group that offers free monthly meetings, mother-to-mother breastfeeding support, telephone assistance and a lending library. Mount Marathon Race applications due

Applications for the 84th Annual Mount Marathon Race are due by midnight on March 31. Applications can be completed online at Application fees are $45 for adults and $25 for junior runners. Veterans and 2010 finishers have priority, with the remaining slots filled through a lottery system. Lottery results will be announced in mid-April. LeeShore meeting, event scheduled

The LeeShore Center monthly board meeting is Wednesday at 5:30 p.m., in the large conference room at The LeeShore Center. All community members are welcome.

The center hosts "Alaskans Choose Respect," an awareness event, on March 31 from noon to 2 p.m. We will meet at the Kenai gazebo in Leif Hansen Park and walk to the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center. Refreshments will be served.

Hospital book fair to help scholarship fund

The Central Peninsula Hospital Auxiliary Book Fair takes place March 29 from 9 to 4 in the Denali Room at CPH. Proceeds go to the Auxiliary Scholarship Fund to support local students.

Senior fundraiser scheduled

Tickets for the senior connection fundraising dinner are now on sale. The dinner is scheduled for 6 to 9 p.m. March 31 at the Kenai Senior Center. Tickets are $20 and include dinner. The event is a fundraiser for Kenai's Meals on Wheels program. The evening will also have live music, a split-the-pot raffle, and a pie auction. Tickets are avilable at Charlottes and at the Kenai Senior Center. For more information call the senior center at 283-4196.

Free community meeting space available
