Nutrition class offered

Kenaitze Head Start and the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank will offer a free nutrition class from 10 a.m. until noon Monday at the Kenai Methodist Church on Frontage Road. Nutritionist Colleen Deal will teach a hands-on class entitled, "Lentils: Legumes With a Lift." For more information, call 283-0707.

Blood bank needs blood

The Blood Bank of Alaska is experiencing a shortage of several blood types. To donate, stop by the Kenai Peninsula Blood Bank in the Blazy Mall in Soldotna, or call 260-5672 for an appointment.

SBDC presents workshops

The Small Business Development Center will sponsor a free workshop dealing with the Made in Alaska program, Internet marketing, exporting products and finding capital Tuesday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Homer Chamber of Commerce; and Wednesday at the Kenai Convention and Visitors Bureau from 1 to 5 p.m.

Historical society to meet

The Soldotna Historical Society will hold a board of directors meeting at 9 a.m. Saturday at the museum building on Centennial Road in Soldotna. The public is welcome to attend. For more information, call Barbara at 262-4157.

KWF art show ongoing

The Kenai Watershed Forum invites the public to view "The Many Landscapes of the Kenai Watershed -- Micro to Macro," a juried art show on display through April 11 at the Kenai Peninsula College Art Gallery. Kindergarten info evening scheduled

The Sears Elementary School kindergarten teachers will hold an informational meeting April 10 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the school library.

Nikiski bake sale and bazaar planned

The Nikiski Senior Citizens Center will hold its annual spring bazaar and bake sale April 10 through 12 at the center. Tables may be reserved for $10 per day. For more information, call Retha at 776-7654.

The Soldotna Senior Citizens Center's annual Trash and Treasure Sale will be held April 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the center. Tables may be reserved for $10. Baked goods and a limited menu will be available. For more information, call 262-2322 or stop by the center.

Genealogical groups plan presentations

The Totem Tracers Genealogical Society and the Soldotna Family History Center will present "Using Family Tree Maker Software" at 1 p.m. April 12 at the Kenai Community Library. On April 15, the groups will present "Planning a Family Reunion" at the Family History Center in Soldotna, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The public is welcome to attend either class.
