The eighth-graders faced real life challenges by getting jobs, getting married, having children and buying homes — in a pretend math project. The students planned a budget around income taxes, loan interest rates, utilities necessary to maintain a household and raising children.

Congratulations to the varsity boys' basketball team for an undefeated regular season and for taking first place in the Region II championships. The school thanks coaches Bruce Gabriel, Greg Bell, and Justin Franchino.

The China mission team returns Saturday.

Raffle tickets were made available Monday for the playground equipment fund-raiser. Tickets are $10 each and must be turned in by April 13. Some of the prizes available are fishing charters, car washes and a day at a spa. See the school newsletter for further details.

Standardized tests are Monday through April 8. Students need to be at school on time, attend all day and be well rested.

The National Honor Society banquet is Monday at 6 p.m. at College Heights Baptist Church. New members will be inducted and the student of the year and staff member of the year will be announced.
