CPGH plans board meeting

The Central Peninsula General Hospital board of directors will meet at 4:30 p.m. today in the Iliamna Conference Room at the hospital. It is open to the public. For a copy of the agenda, visit www.cpgh.org.

Winter livestock series continues

The University of Alaska Fairbanks Kenai District Cooperative Extension Services office will host animal scientist and livestock specialist Milan Shipka from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Cook Inlet Aquaculture Building. The topic will be lactation and calf raising. For more information, call 262-5824.

Little League registration up to bat

The Kenai Little League will hold registration from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Kenai Safeway store. Registration can be done online at www.eteamz.com/kenailittleleague. Coaches and umpires are needed for all age groups. For more information, call Kristy Huges at 283-5462.

Fairy tales to be told

Kenai Community Library and the Kenai Performers will present free classic folk and fairy tales at 1 p.m. Sunday at the library. It is open to the public.

HEA youth rally slated

The deadline for scholarship application to the annual Homer Electric Association Youth Rally in Idaho is Monday. High school sophomores and juniors are eligible for an expense-paid week in Caldwell, Idaho. Participants will learn to enhance leadership skills, learn about cooperatives and participate in team-building exercises. Applications are available online at www.homerelectric.com or at either HEA office.

Ethics to be discussed

The League of Women Voters Alaska will host a panel discussion on ethics at noon April 8 at the Kenai River Center on Funny River Road in Soldotna. Featured speakers will be Joyce Anderson, administrator of the Legislative Ethics Committee and Pete Sprague, president of the Alaska Municipal League. For more information, call 262-3908.

Rowing class set to begin

An introduction to rowing presentation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. April 18 at the Soldotna Middle School. Participants will learn about the health benefits of sweep rowing. Volunteer drivers needed

The Kenai Veterans Center is seeking interested community members to drive its van Tuesdays or Thursdays to Anchorage. The center provides rides to veterans to the VA Medical Center. For more information, call Joe or Dave at 260-7640.
