ANCHORAGE (AP) -- A morning crash Saturday injured two and briefly closed the Glenn Highway in Anchorage.

Shortly after 7 a.m., police received calls that a pickup truck was driving toward Eagle River on the wrong side of the road.

The vehicle then crashed head-on with a car driven by Russell Pressley, 42 near Fort Richardson.

The driver of the pickup truck was a 17-year-old girl. Police are not releasing her name.

Pressley was trapped inside his car. Emergency workers extricated him and transported him to Providence Hospital with a broken leg, hand and possible head injuries.

The girl was taken to Alaska Regional Hospital and was treated for internal injuries and face cuts.

Police said neither driver's injuries appeared to be life-threatening.

The highway was fully opened in less than an hour.
