To Cheri Edwards and other anti-war demonstrators:
My husband served in the U.S. Navy for eight years and was in the Persian Gulf during 1991. My 18-year-old son now serves his country in the U.S. Air Force as a firefighter. As a wife and mother, I will not waste my time asking you if you support our troops; ignorance is not worth questioning.
I don't know anyone who "wants war" or "likes war" not our president, not you, not me, and definitely not our servicemen and women.
Do you know why we are over there? Simply to abolish Saddam and his regime. If we don't, eventually he will abolish us. Then, I bet you all will be begging for our military to protect you.
We have the bravest and most unselfish Americans over there, fighting to keep our everyday freedoms and rights and to keep us safe. We all have a right to speech, but there comes a time when all Americans need to come together and support our troops and our president.
War is here. You are not going to stop it, but our awesome troops will! Let's hear it for optimism and for one giant step forward!
