Pee Wee 1 Ice Hawks hockey team

Soldotna grads make grade


Brita West

Brita L. West, a 2002 graduate of Skyview High School, was named to the president's list for the fall trimester at Portland Community College in Portland, Ore. She attained a 4.0 grade point average.

Angel Denise Hollers, a 2002 graduate of Skyview High School, was named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Evangel University in Springfield, Mo. To be named to the dean's list, students must earn a grade point average of at least 3.6.

Hollers is a freshman majoring in social work and the daughter of Loren and Dianna Hollers of Soldotna.

Kenai couple's son studies in London

Alden Ford, the son of Larry and Carol Ford of Kenai, is a junior majoring in theater at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Wash., currently studying abroad at the London Academy of Theatre in London. Ford is a graduate of Summerville Union High School in Tuolumne, Calif., and one of about 100 Whitman students studying abroad this semester.

Kenai students graduate from college

Chris A. Arbelovsky and Joshua Donald Weatherman, both of Kenai, graduated from Western Washington University in Bellingham, Wash., recently with bachelor of arts degrees.

Seward woman graduates from basic training

Air Force Airman Jamie I. Fredrickson has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. During the six weeks of training, Fredrickson studied the Air Force mission, organization and military customs, performed drill and ceremony marches and received training in physical fitness, rifle marksmanship, field exercises and human relaitons. She also earned credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

She is the daughter of James Fredrickson of Seward and a 2002 graduate of Seward Middle-Senior High School.
