The following is a list of Soldotna Community Schools classes and activities starting this week. For more information, call 262-6768.

Honey Bees and Beekeeping with Rosy Thompson Using the book and video series, "Honey Bees and Beekeep-ing: A Year in the Life of an Apiary," the class will explore how to keep bees, grow honey and pollinate a garden for business or hobby. The class meets from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Soldotna Middle School. It is open to all ages, and the cost is $10.

The following is a list of new classes being offered by Homer Community Schools. For more information, call (907) 235-6090.

Canning the Catch Participants will learn USDA canning recommendations and safe methods for canning salmon at home. The class will meet from 6 to 9 p.m. April 8 in the Homer High School home economics room. The cost is $10.

Group Piano Lessons The classes meet Saturdays, starting this week, through May 10. The beginners class will meet from 9 to 10:30 a.m., and advanced class will meet from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The classes cost $90 and meet at the Calvary Refuge.
