Nugent, Debnam deserve chance to continue working on HEA board

Posted: Wednesday, March 31, 2004

I will be referring to Jim Carter 's letter of March 24 to the Peninsula Clarion concerning qualifications for the HEA board.

For the most part, I agree with what Mr. Carter states, we should look at the qualifications. He does mislead us a little bit when he says we should not be content in re-electing the same board members. What he doesn't say is that the two people he asks us to support are past board members that we, the members, chose not to re-elect. Mr. Rainey was not re-elected just last year.

Mike Nugent and Debbie Debnam are honest, hard-working members of our community with many years of education and business management background. They have worked diligently to keep our electric rates low and to streamline the operation of our co-op.

In my opinion, they are deserving of my vote, and I hope you join me in allowing them to have the time to continue the good work they have done for HEA.
