As part of their study of Alaska, the students enjoyed a visit from long-time Alaskans Joe and Betty Cloud. The Clouds told of their experiences mining for gold in the Fairbanks area and brought samples of several types of gold for the students to see. Thanks to them for sharing their knowledge with the students.

Students also enjoyed planting some spring flower seeds with Mrs. Cindy Wentzlaff. The hope is that the flowers will be blooming in time for Mother's Day. Thanks to Cindy for her time assisting and instructing the students.

It is a busy week at Grace Lutheran this week. The parents and students gathered for a Friends of Grace get together Monday night. A generous potluck meal was enjoyed by all, followed by a devotion by Pastor Tom Schmidt, a state of the school report by Principal Dennis Leckwee and a time to tour the students' science fair displays.

Parent-teacher conferences began Tuesday and continue today, with parents receiving the children's third-quarter report cards.

Grace Lutheran is ready for spring enrollment for preschool and kindergarten through eighth-grade. Families who would like to receive a full-color brochure regarding the school can call 283-9551 for further information.
