Sterling Head Start

Posted: Wednesday, March 31, 2004

This week was celebration theme week. The morning class went to the post office, where the students received cards in the mail for St. Patrick's Day.

Lessons this week encourage the children to celebrate their achievements and accomplishments. This reinforces the importance and significance of the small steps they are taking as they mature, such as growing older and bigger, making friends and learning to do new things.

The staff thanks Cecelia Keyes for donating St. Patrick's Day decorations for the classroom. The children enjoyed seeing a bit of Ireland around the room.

The "FUN Raisin" fund-raiser will be April 17 at the Naptowne Inn. The fund-raiser will be used to buy new playground equipment for the school. The auction and show will begin at 6 p.m. with dinner being served. Tickets are available at the school, The Wedding Brokers and Naptowne Inn Restaurant. The cost is $10 for parents who purchased tickets prior to today or $12.50 for community members. Some of the items for auction are fishing trips, haircuts, homemade wooden bowls, two oil changes, a screwdriver set from Snap-On tools, a flight and fishing excursion with Natron Air, a load of gravel and a delivery service from Sam's Club. For more information, call 260-7446.
