Area Chambers set schedules

Ben Schoffmann of Marathon Oil will speak at noon today at the Nikiski Chamber of Commerce luncheon at Ohana's Family Restaurant.

Next week's speaker will be Paul Perry with the Kenai Peninsula College paramedics program.

Job and career fair slated

The Peninsula Job Center will host the fourth annual Job and Career Fair from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 7 at the Kenai Mall in Kenai. There will be employers looking to hire. In addition there will be employer and training panels designed to provide information to job and career seekers.

Work force conference slated

A statewide work force development conference will be held Tuesday and Wednesday at the Challenger Learning Center of Alaska in Kenai. Leaders from the oil, gas and mining industries will come together with the state's education and training providers to educate the Alaskan work force. The conference is designed to help the work force get ready for gas pipeline, mining and other resource development jobs.
