Moderate quake rumbles near Adak

ANCHORAGE (AP) -- An earthquake was recorded near Adak Friday night.

The Alaska Tsunami Warning Center in Palmer said the quake had a magnitude of 5.0.

It was centered at the western end of the Aleutian chain, about 45 miles southeast of Adak. There were no reports of damage or that it was felt in that community.

The quake occurred at 10:57 p.m. Friday.
