Josephine 'Jo' Seelinger
Longtime Kenai resident Josephine "Jo" Elizabeth Seelinger died Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at Central Peninsula General Hospital in Soldotna. She was 87.
A memorial mass will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 4, at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Kenai. Father Richard Tero will officiate.
Josephine Elizabeth Ladd was born Feb. 21, 1918, in Harrison, Mich. After retiring from the Michigan school system in 1960, she and her husband, Don, moved to Kenai. She commercial fished with her husband in Northern Cook Inlet for many years.
"Jo was a friendly person who was always willing to extend a helping hand to others. May she rest peacefully knowing that she is deeply love and will be greatly missed," her family said.
Mrs. Seelinger was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Don.
She is survived by her sons, Donald Peter of Seldovia and David Paul of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; daughters-in-law, Vicky, Pam, Sherry and Bobbie; adopted daughter, Linda Frison and her husband, Ron; grandchildren, David, Tina, Scott, Chris and Kimberly; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; brother, Clarence Kent Ladd of Kenai; and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be sent to the Kenai Senior Citizens Center, 381 Senior Court, Kenai, AK 99611.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai.
