Streiff to speak at Kenai chamber

Matt Streiff of Edward Jones Investments will be the guest speaker at today's meeting of the Kenai Chamber of Commerce. The meeting will be held from noon to 1 p.m. at Paradisos. Cost is $10.50. For more information, call 283-7989.

Food bank reception planned

A public reception for outgoing Kenai Peninsula Food Bank Director Peggy Moore will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the food bank on College Drive, off Kalifornsky Beach Road. Eagles auxiliary plans spaghetti feed

The Eagles Club Ladies Auxiliary will hold a spaghetti feed fund-raiser, auction and dance Saturday at 6:30 p.m. to help raise funds for Tiffany Kleinhans, daughter of Jocelyn Coghill, to attend the People to People Ambassador Program to the British and Irish Heritage 2003 Tour in June. The event will be held at Eagles Aerie 3525 on the Kenai Spur Highway in Kenai. For more information, call 283-4938.

Rally time changed

The Stand Up for America rally, originally scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, has been moved to 11 a.m. Saturday at Leif Hansen Memorial Park in Kenai.

Oyster benefit planned

An "Oyster Shooting" benefit will be held to raise funds for a new van for Jan Hanrahan at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Soldotna Elks Club. In addition to oysters, jumbo prawns, linguine, garlic bread, salad and dessert will be on the menu. A silent auction will be held, and entertainment will be by KC and the Bose Beat. Anyone wishing to make donations for a silent auction should drop them by 4D Interiors or bring items to the benefit. Tickets are $25.
