Ryan Walton, right, a Soldotna High junior and a member of the Challenger Learning Center's robotics team, shaves Central Peninsula General Hospital physician James Zirul's last week at the hospital. Zirul challenged the CPGH medical staff to raise $3,000 within six weeks to help the robotics team fund a trip to the regional robotics competition in Seattle this past weekend. If the staff met his, challenge, Zirul promised to cut off all his hair. "In the last medical staff meeting, I threw down the gauntlet," he said. The staff raised $3,800.
