Fish and Game meeting slated

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Wildlife Conservation, will host a meeting of the Wolverine Creek Management Committee from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the Cook Inlet Aquaculture Association conference room on Kalifornsky Beach Road.

The committee will review the management objectives for Wolverine Creek. There also will be a presentation of information gathered from research conducted by Washington State University in the cove last year.

The public is invited to attend.

Nikiski track and field on a 'roll'

The Nikiski High School track and field team will hold a toilet paper roll fund-raiser from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Team members will go door-to-door and will either ask for a roll of toilet paper or try to sell a roll of toilet paper. Proceeds will help fund the team's travel expenses. Connections continues informational meetings

The Connections home-school program continues with its series of informational meetings at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Islands and Oceans Visitor Center in Homer, 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Soldotna Senior Citizens Center, 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Sterling Senior Center and noon April 13 in the Seward Elementary School conference room. Little League to begin registration

Soldotna Little League will hold player registration from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at its office at 374 Lovers Lane in Soldotna, above Alaska Great Skate. For more information, call Hope Thompson at 262-1757.

Banquet fund-raiser planned to benefit fair

The Peninsula State Fair Association will hold a banquet and auction fund-raiser at 5 p.m. Saturday at the fairgrounds in Ninilchik. Dinner, games, raffles, door prizes and auctions are some of the planned activities. Babysitting will be provided. The price is $25 per person or $45 per couple. Tickets are available at Beemuns in Soldotna, Kristie Leaf State Farm Office in Kenai, the Kasilof Mercantile, the Homer Book Store, the Ninilchik General Store, the Deep Creek Sport Shop and the fair office in Ninilchik. Eagles national leader to visit area

Peggy Carver, national grand madam president of the Eagles Auxiliary, will visit area auxiliaries Sunday. Carver is from the Hermiston, Ore., Eagles Auxiliary No. 2909. Her one-day visit will include lunch at 1 p.m. at Louie's Restaurant and various activities throughout the day and will conclude with dinner at 7 p.m. at Paradisos Restaurant.
