Assessor shouldn't get paid twice for doing job

I see a lot of dissatisfaction about the increase in assessment of taxes.

I see in the annual budget that the assembly adopted a wage budget for the mayor of $367,131. It was $185,750. I see that most of the borough employees have a wage increase, also.

If a person protests, you have to pay the assessor his time for this process. The assessor is already getting his salary for assessing. Why charge the protester when the assessor is getting paid? That is his job.
