Chlora 'Ellen' Brown

Lifelong Alaska resident Chlora "Ellen" Brown died Thursday, March 27, 2008, at her house in Nikiski. She was 44.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, April 4, at North Star United Methodist Church, Mile 25.5 of the Kenai Spur Highway in Nikiski. Pastor Laura Skiba will officiate.

Mrs. Brown was born June 7, 1963, in Kodiak to Chester and Josephine Clymer. She was a member of the North Star Methodist Church in Nikiski. She loved gardening, cooking and reading.

"Ellen was a loving mother who doted on her son, George. She was always ready to help anyone in need and will be greatly missed by her family and friends," her family said.

Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, George Brown of Nikiski; son, George Brown Jr. of Nikiski; sisters, Alice Addy of Oceano, Calif., Janet Zink of Knob Noster, Mo., and Pam Pingree of Kodiak; brothers, George Clymer, Chester Clymer and Burl Clymer; and aunt, Chlora Clymer of Kodiak.

Memorial donations may be sent in memory of Mrs. Brown to the North Star United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 8122, Nikiski, AK 99635.

Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai.
