Community Awareness Workshop upcoming

The LeeShore Center will be holding its bi-annual Community Awareness Workshop on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault April 5 to 9 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center.

Topics to be covered include domestic violence, sexual assault, the effects of domestic violence on children, the agency's Batterer's Intervention Program, and volunteering with shelter clients.

The public is invited and may attend a portion or the entire workshop. Continuing education credit may be attained after completion of the workshop and 30 hours of volunteer work with The LeeShore Center.

Soldotna Historical Society board to meet

The Board of Directors for the Soldotna Historical Society will hold a monthly meeting at the Fine Thyme Cafe in River City Books April 10 at 9 a.m.

ANGDA CEO to speak

Alaska Natural Gas Development Authority's CEO, Harold Heinze, will be the featured speaker at the Kenai Peninsula Builders Association's April general membership meeting at 6 p.m. April 8 at Mykel's Restaurant in Soldotna.

Education plans for children class to be held

Stone Soup Group is offering a free class on April 7 from 8:30-11:30 a.m.at the Borough Administration building on Binkley Street in Soldotna.

The topic of the class is on Individual Education Plans for children leaving the Infant Learning Program or those families with children new to Special Education Services.
