Bear baiting clinic slated

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game will hold a black bear baiting clinic at 6 p.m. Friday at the Cook Inlet Aquaculture Building on Kalifornsky Beach Road in Kenai.

Hunters may not register a bait station in Game Management Units 7, 14A, 14B, 15, 16A or 20B unless they have successfully completed an ADFG-approved course. Hunters who already have taken the course do not have to be recertified. For more information, call 262-9368.

Teen Center plans activities

The Kenai Teen Center will hold several activities this month. On Friday, the center will host a band extravaganza from 7 to 10 p.m. All teen musicians are invited.

On April 11 from 7 to 10 p.m., the center will hold a Hawaiian-themed middle school dance for seventh- and eighth-graders. The cost is $3.

April 18 there will be live music night, featuring Tuff E Nuff, from 7 to 10 p.m. Admission is free. For more information, call Michelle at 283-3855.

Historical society meeting planned

The Soldotna Historical Society will hold its board of directors meeting at 9 a.m. Saturday at the museum building on Centennial Road in Soldotna.

The North Peninsula Community Council will hold its next regular meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at the Nikiski Senior Citizens Center. The public is welcome to attend. For more information, call 776-3257.

Little League registration date nears

Tryouts and final registration for Kenai Little League will be held at the Kenai Central High School gym Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. for junior baseball and from 8 to 9 p.m. for senior baseball, and also April 11 from 7 to 8 p.m. for junior softball and from 8 until 9 p.m. for senior softball.

Healthy communities to meet

The Healthy Communities-Healthy People steering committee will hold its regular meeting at 1:30 p.m. April 10 at Bridges, 145 Kasilof St. in Soldotna. For more information, call 260-3800.
