Shown above is Annalise Theisens grand prize-winning drawing for the Alaska Agriculture Day poster contest. Theisen is a seventh-grader from Kenai Middle School. The five-paneled colored pencil drawing depicts a variety of Alaska agriculture, from musk ox to oysters to vegetables. Her design will be reprinted as Alaska Ag Day posters, marking the May 2 event. The contest and Alaska Ag Day are sponsored by Alaska Agriculture in the Classroom, Alaska Division of Agriculture’s Alaska Grown program and the Alaska Farm Bureau. Posters will be available by April 1. As grand prize winner she received $250. Posters were judged on their artistry and connection to Alaska agriculture.
