Lost package changes reader's perception

Posted: Thursday, April 03, 2008

This is to the person who picked up a lost package and found an anti-virus program: Shame on you for not turning it in to the store or not placing a found ad in the paper. To you it was probably just a bonus find, but to the person who lost it, it was six months of saving nickels and dimes.

I used to feel a pride in living in our small community. You could count on your neighbor to do the right thing. Not anymore, it seems.

What you did when you kept the package makes you a thief. Is that what our community is truly becoming, a nest of thieves?
