Kachemak Bay Campus to host art workshop

The Kachemak Bay Campus of Kenai Peninsula College will host a workshop titled "New Approaches to Plein-Air," with with nationally recognized artist Kesler Woodward, April 18-20. The workshop will focus on techniques to outdoor painting from life, with an emphasis on individual vision and experimentation.

The workshop will run from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on April 18, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on April 19 and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 20. The registration fee is $190.75. Advanced resgistration is required.

Artists sought

The Central Peninsula Hospital Auxiliary is seeking local artists for its monthly display at the Care Package Gift Shop. Artists who would like their would like to have their work considered for display and sales at the shop may call Eve Thompson at the gift shop at 714-4898.

Kachemak Bay shorebird photo contest

The annual amateur photo contest sponsored by NOMAR and Eagle Eye Photo has begun. The theme is "Alaska," and scenic and wildlife photos may be entered.

Entries must be received before 6 p.m. May 5. Winners will be notified by May 8. The grand prize is $300 and other cash prizes will be awarded by category. Photos will be on display at NOMAR through May 29.
