Longtime Soldotna resident, Patricia Jo "Pat" Humecky, 76, died Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at Central Peninsula Hospital, in Soldotna, with her family by her side.
Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at The Soldotna Church Of God, 105 West Redoubt Ave., in Soldotna. Pastor Alan Humphries will officiate. A gathering will follow at the V.F.W. Post #10046 in Soldotna.
Ms. Humecky was born Aug. 26, 1934, to Gerald and Lois Sloss, in Guthrie Center, Iowa, in the family farm house. She moved to Alaska in 1959 where she lived in Soldotna until the present. She worked for Kenai Drilling for many years and owned Pat's Place 1977 -- 1978. From 1979 to 1984 she worked for Cason Casing and had many other jobs at the local businesses. Her last job was working as a bartender for the V.F.W. Post #10046. Ms. Humecky volunteered at the Women Resource Center and Soldotna Elementary School. She loved cooking, camping, taking care of people and shopping.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael J. Humecky Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Price, of Soldotna; sons, Daniel Sloss and his wife, Shelly, of San Rafael, Calif., and Michael J. Humecky III; daughters, Sue Humecky, of Soldotna, Lisa Humecky, of Soldotna; granddaughters, Amber and her husband Tyler Marr, of Bentonville, Ark., Alycia Humecky, of Austin, Texas, and Patricia Davis of, Longmont, Colo.; grandsons, Rusty Wilson, of Soldotna, Michael Humecky IV, of Soldotna, Sam Sloss, of New York, Travis Temple and his wife, Randy Rose Renner, of Soldotna; great-grandchildren, Navien and Oliver Marr, Riley Renner and Tayshun Bell; sister, Carole Mize; step-mother, Hilda Sloss and several loving nieces, nephews, and several adopted children and grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made in memory of Patricia to the The Lee Shore Center, 325 South Spruce, Kenai, Alaska, 99611.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
