July 4 planning meeting today

Gardeners to host garden art workshop

The next session of the Central Peninsula Master Gardeners winter lecture series will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. today at the Cook Inlet Aquaculture Association Building on Kalifornsky Beach Road. Kenaitze Head Start to hold garage sale

Kenaitze Head Start will hold a garage sale today from noon to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to raise funds for its graduation ceremony. For more information, call 283-0707.

Pop Warner cheerleading sign-ups planned

Sign-ups for Pop Warner cheerleading for children ages 7 to 16 will be held at Carrs, Safeway and Fred Meyer from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 12 and from noon to 4 p.m. April 13. KWF art show reception planned

The Kenai Watershed Forum invites the public to view "The Many Landscapes of the Kenai Watershed Micro to Macro," a juried art show on display through April 11 at the Kenai Peninsula College Art Gallery. Tack swap slated

Oyster benefit planned

An "Oyster Shooting" benefit will be held to raise funds for a new wheelchair-accessible van for Jan Hanrahan at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Soldotna Elks Club. Ninilchik fair banquet planned

A "Fun Raiser" banquet will be held for the Ninilchik State Fair in the Carol Bock Hall at the Ninilchik Fairgrounds at 6 p.m. Saturday. All proceeds will be used for new seating at the fairgrounds. Tickets are $30 per person or $50 per couple. Tickets are available at the Homer Bookstore, Ninilchik General Store, Deep Creek Sport Shop, Kasilof Mercantile, Kristie Leaf State Farm Agency and Beemun's.
