Anchorage resident Jacob Mlynarik died March 31, 2006, at the Mary Conrad Center in Anchorage. He was 83
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, at the Mary Conrad Center Chapel in Anchorage. Pastor Keith Olson will officiate. Burial will take place in Cooper Landing Cemetery at a later date.
Mr. Mlynarik was born Aug. 1, 1922, in Akron, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1946. He moved to Alaska in 1951, living in Cooper Landing, as well as Anchorage. He was employed by the Alaska Labor Operating Engineers and retired in 1981.
He enjoyed wood working, football, reading, crossword puzzles and music.
Mr. Mlynarik was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
He is survived by is wife, Marian, of Anchorage; son, Peter Mlynarik of Soldotna; daughter, Kathy Tarcon of Mosinee, Wis.; grandchildren, Keamarae Mlynarik and Koebryn Mlynarik of Soldotna and Jim and Andy Tarcon of Mosinee.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Resource Agency in Anchorage.
Arrangements were made by Anchorage Funeral Home and Crematory.
